Description
bluesmart Store Up for sale is an ultra rare antique Louis Vuitton black leather trunk from around the 1900s which is still in very good shape for its age. Just the usual discolorations and scratches from use over time. This trunk used to be tied donw to the outside of a car on a rack or something. Thereofore the silver hardware (instead of brass which would corrode to fast outside), the multiplie tie-down hooks and the water protection lid on the lock.Does not smell musty inside. Just the usual smell of an old suitcase. All the correct old locks and snaps intact and clearly marked LV/Louis Vuitton. LV leather handles on the sides missing but could easily be replaced by an original LV handle through any LV store. Tie down hooks work as handles very well, too.The measurements are: 83cm x 38cm x 38cm I have not touched the piece any more than dusting it. I am not a restoration expert, and I know better than to mess with such a beautiful antique. Some more details about the piece: Nails and tacks are stamped with Louis Vuitton. Interior original cloth is in great condition—minimal staining for its age. The pics definately exaggerate the stains. It looks much more clean in the real word. The trunk's inside paper label of Louis Vuitton along with the LV serial number is still there and in good condition. Overall, a functioning and beautiful antique car trunk made by the classic Louis Vuitton with a great history and a great size. This is a great piece to continue your travels with or use as an accent to your home. Also, the great think of this car trunk is that is a regular rectangular shape, nothing oddly shaped like most car trunks. So this would serve as a great interior decoration piece, too.
