The Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network is a unique and exciting multi-day event that traverses the country each fall via participants walking, running and cycling to raise funds for their local Children's Hospitals. For the past six years, the Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network has continued to grow as an exciting and important event to raise funds for Children's Hospitals. The relay began in 1990, raising just over $10,000 in the Washington, DC area. From 2002-2004, the relay expanded to a regional event stretching from Miami to Orlando to Atlanta, raising $120,500, $237,000, and $348,000, respectfully each year. Stretching 5,500 miles from east to west in 2005, new and exciting ground was broken as 2,200 participants and sponsors united in a common goal of raising funds. Participants from Baltimore down to Miami, and across to Los Angeles raised over $622,000—carrying the torch and a message of hope for children throughout the nation. But, the journey did not end there. In fact, in November 2006, the second coast-to-coast raised an amazing $1,033,800, followed by over $1,100,000 being raised in the fall of 2007.
