Description
This is a beautiful classic Audi with original paint and motor, automatic transmission and factory dealer air conditioning. I bought this in late 2000 from the original owner, an elderly lady who only put 40,000 miles on the car and treated it with tender loving care. I drove it to Massachusetts and then to my home in South Florida where it has been kept under covered storage ever since. Notice the Mercedes features / styling. The car was part of the package when Mercedes sold Auto Union to VW in 1965. MB ( Daimler Benz ) had purchased Auto Union in 1958. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A839090 In 1969 the Audi name reappeared, having remained dormant since 1932 ! I just installed new rotors and pads, rebuilt calipers, new SuperSprint exhaust, new tires, new auto trans shift cable, new motor mount, and a rebuilt carburetor. Car is running fantastic, starts right up, does not smoke, shifts well and the air conditioning is cold. No funny noises. There is some rust along bottom of front fenders and bottom edge of LR door. New Boge shockes installed on the front suspension along with a few new suspension bushings.Front suspension is fully independent, with upper and lower control - A arms..Rear axle is torsion crank with a panhard rod. Fuel consumption advertised at 26.4 mpg. Will include the rare printed 2 volume factory repair manuals. Have lots of NOS spare parts as well. Come over, take a look, make an offer or trade for ?
